Learning to dive at the Red Sea

From Europe, Egypt can be reached by plane in a few hours and is therefore the ideal destination for a short holiday. The underwater world is colourful and ideal for beginners. In our program we have a wide range of beginner and advanced courses for our students. The team consists of experienced instructors and is looking forward to introducing you to the underwater world in Marsa Alam.

In cooperation with Rolf Schmidt from Sinai Divers Werner Lau has been operating “The Oasis” Dive Resort in Marsa Alam and its dive center for many years.

Irrespective of whether you simply want to get a taste of the underwater world or choose a beginner course, we have the right program for you. In Marsa Alam we mainly train according to the guidelines of i.a.c. (International Aquanautic Club) and SSI (Scuba Schools International aus). No matter which beginner course you choose, after passing the final exam you will hold an internationally recognized diving certificate in your hands, which will welcome you at any diving center worldwide.

Our dive centers in Egypt:

We want to train you as stress-free as possible. For this reason, all our beginner courses take place in small groups of maximum 6 people. Theory and practice alternate.

If you are already a certified diver and would like to continue your diving education, this is of course also possible with us:

• Various special courses according to the guidelines of SSI or i.a.c., CMAS.
• SSI or i.a.c. Advanced Adventurer Course
• CMAS Silver or CMAS Gold (on request)
• Rescue Diver Course (on request)
• Divecon (on request)

Child Diving:

Children from the age of 8 can start diving at the Werner Lau / Sinai Divers diving centers in Sharm el Sheikh and Marsa Alam. And for kids aged 8 and 9 we offer a kids course from the beach. Maximum dive depth here is just 2 meters. From the age of 10 years the children can either do a trial dive at a maximum depth of 5-6 m from the beach or boat or be trained as Junior Open Water Diver. The certificates can then be upgraded to Open Water Diver at the age of 15.

e-Learning:

Lots of things have changed since the Internet. Today, you can learn the theory online from home prior to the course and complete the theoretical training in the so-called eLearning process. These is offered by SSI. If you are interested, feel free to consult us. Contact us: office@wernerlau.com

Important:

The Open Water Diver course lasts 3 to 4 days and includes 5 chapters of theory, a theoretical final exam, limited open water training sessions and 4 open water dives.

The Advanced Adventurer course lasts 2 to 3 days and includes 5 dives. The CMAS* or Open Water Diver is required for participation in the Advanced Adventurer course.

We recommend having a medical examination in advance. Although this is not prescribed by law in Egypt, it is recommended by us in principle. If you do not have a medical certificate, you must complete a medical questionnaire on site. If questions are answered with “yes” this means that, in case of doubt, a doctor must issue an exemption on site.

Some diving courses, such as the Open Water Diver or the Advanced Open Water Diver, can be pre-booked with us.

i.a.c. (International Aquanautic Club) is a member of RSTC and CMAS Germany. As a result, all i.a.c. Certifications are recognized at all dive centers around the world and by other diving associations such as SSI or others.
