No Fools in April
April saw another fantastic month in terms of numbers and students ability.
To start the month Roger Telford from Northern Ireland came over to do his Evolution CCR course. Roger has been undecided in which rebreather he wanted to train on and purchase and after much deliberation settled for the Evolution. He passed with flying colours and was encoutaged by Richard Crothers and Mark Palmer who were out to do a weeks CCR Mixed Gas diving ready for the season back home. Thomas Canyon, Blue Hole and Dahab Canyon were just some of the highlights of the week.
Juan Rodriguez, originally from Paraguay completed his Advanced Nitox and Decompression Procedures Instructor course. After spending a few days brushing up on his skills and theory he was let loose to assist in teaching Jessica Moutte her Advanced and Deco user course. We had a great week but just missed the Mantas on every dive as we were too deep ot had just exited the water:(
Rob Clemes is a regular guest and student and this time he was crossing over to his new Copis Megalodon rebreather. After a few tweeks and O’ring changes all worked well and he completed the course with no problems. He did look B)underwater!!!
Sam and Jim spent a few days tech diving to get back in to the swing of things and brush up on their skills. The highlight of the weeki was a two hour dive on the Thistlegorm wreck. The first hour saw only a few divers and then we had the wreck to ourselves, exploring every crevice we could find. With carefull planning and the correct nitrox gasses we were still over 30 minutes away from any deco, much to the amazement of the others onboard.
We also managed to finish off the month with some gas blending courses for the staff. Congratulations to Thomas and Angel who have completed up to Advanced Gas Blender. This will save me doing all the blending from now on :>>
