Widia, the inexhaustible helper
Widia (Nengah Widia) has literally won his work with us: when there are several applicants, the decision has to be done by drawing numbers. It was actually for a job as captain, but Widia is not a man who pushes himself to the front. He is, however, a good observer and is always ready to help if a guest needs his help setting up equipment, getting ready on the boat or reentering the boat after diving. As a snorkel guide he also shows the guests the dive sites around Menjangan island. His “helping hand” is always and everywhere available. He loves everything about his job, which he does for 10 years with us, and likes to continue to serve as a helper. He is a trained builder, but is attracted to the sea. When our captains and helpers had to pick up the boats from the shipyard in Sanur, he had great pleasure: he saw “the big city” again after many years. Especially the toll road in the Mangrove Bay fascinated him! Widia comes from Pemuteran and lives with his wife and two sons together with his parents. He is one of the “rain dancers” of the village, which reminds a bit of Taekwondo. He is very good at it, which also explains his super fitness.
