Munduk Tour

Via Singaraja, Bedugul, Munduk, back via Sererit – Singaraja

This tour gives you a good impression of Bali ‘s variety of landscapes and its richness of flora. We are coming from the northeast of Bali which is a dry and hot area with a lot of coconut and mango trees and head to Central Bali (Bedugul) which is much greener and has a colder climate. We will also pass by the north coast of Bali which is famous for its black sand beaches and for the Bali grapes. During the trip we will have many stops at all the nice viewpoints (like Munduk), lakes, temples, markets, plantations etc.

Bedugul

Bedugul is located in the mountains where the temperature can be cold. The panorama is beautiful and nature unspoiled. There is a beautiful lake with calm and clear water in the area. It is often referred to as Beratan Lake . In the middle of lake is a famous temple named Ulun Danu Temple . In the Bedugul area you may find a traditional market selling agricultural products.

Botanical Gardens

Taking the road to Bedugal, we can take a pleasant side track in Candi Kuning . The Bali Botanical Gardens are located west of the main road and are accessed by turning left at the corn knob statue and heading down a small side road just south of the market area. The Bali Botanical Gardens are also known as Kebun Raya Eka Karya Bali and cover 154 hectares. The gardens (or, more accurately, the forest) contain 1,753 plant species. Entry to the park is permitted for cars but not motorbikes. On weekends, the park gets busy with Balinese people but during the week the place is very quiet and relaxing. The Bali Botanical Gardens are owned by the Forestry Department and run by the Institute of Sciences. There are three temples inside the park: Pura Teratai Bang, Pura Giri Putri and Pura Batumeringgit. There is also a library and a herbarium for studying plants of the area.

Asah Munduk

11 km north of Bedugul a side road leads to the village of Asah Munduk at Lake Tamblingan. The landscape is fascinating and the climate tropical.

Munduk

Bali is a tiny island hiding many villages worth visiting because of their uniqueness, friendly people and stunning views. However, some of them have not been discovered yet by the travellers coming to Bali. Munduk is the name of a quiet village situated on a hill road surrounded by breathtaking views. It lies about 1500 metres above sea level in the northern part of Bali, Buleleng. Munduk village has a wonderful waterfall which is 200 metres high. The water contains sulfur that can help to rejuvenate the skin or heal various skin problems like dermatitis, itchiness, and many others. There are also hectares of clove and coffee plantations.
