Dive at the Zenobia
30.10.2017
The wreck of Zenobia is one of the 10 best wreck dive sites in the world. The reason is the size, easy access and still very good condition of the wreck. With the length of 172 meters and 23 meters wideness it is the biggest wreck of Europe.
The story of the wreck: the boat was built in 1979 in Malmö/Sweden. In June 1980 it sunk on her 1st cruise, front of the harbor of Larnaca. Most probably there was a problem with the computer of the stabilizer system. The ship sunk with 108 trucks, with different cargo like sleeping bags for the army, animal bones…. Today it lies at the depth of 43 meters, aprox. 1500meters from the harbor.
