Filitheyo, 20.10.2022  A frequently seen guest at our house reef. They can be found in the Red Sea and the Indo-Pacific region, preferably they stay in depths between 15 to 30 meters. Yesterday, when we explored our house reef with a guest and the scooter, they followed us the whole dive. In terms of speed, they could easily keep up with us, eyed us curiously with their big eyes and sometimes came so close that you could think they are looking for body contact. Not seldom do they nip cheekily into our fins. Young animals differ optically from adult animals, one recognizes them by their imposing extended fins. They prefer to feed on jellyfish, crabs and worms.
