Sheena Logbook 11.03. – 18.03.2018
Gaafu Alifu Atoll – 7 day tour in the deep south of the Maldives with a sidetrip to Fuva Mula Atoll.
11.03.2018
Our last guests arrive around 2 pm. After all the paperwork we drive over to the Sheena for the welcome drink and welcome breefing.
Koodhoo Outside
After lunch we go to our first divespot at Koodoo Outside. Nice drift along the Faru. During the first dive we are greeted by many sharks at the edge. Good start to new week!
12.03.2018
Viligilli Channel – Nilandhoo Kandu – Maareha
We had awesome dives with hundreds of sharks today. Near Nilandhoo Kandu we were accompanied by a group of eagle rays and some bumphead parrotfishes.

Gemana Fushi Outside – Varuvaa Thundi – Fulahmulah Muli
The day goes on just as great as yesterday ended…. During the early morning dive at Gemana Outside we were accompanied by four very curious silk sharks during the drift in blue water. In addition, a hammerhead shark and a silver tip passed by. As a culmination we could observe two Marlin hunting along the Faru at the end of the dive. Great!!!!!
We decided to go directly to Fulahmula after the first dive. There we had a comfortable entry with a nice house reef dive and another drift dive with a lot of barracudas and big shoals of snappers.

Fulahmulah Muli – Fulahmulah Muli – Fulahmulah Harbor
Another day like that…. In the blue water one unexpected species after the other surprised us: four tresher sharks, behind them two huge oceanic manta rays fly by and to top it all off a tiger shark says “hello”…
During the last dive we decide to dive near the harbour basin to relieve our diving profile a little… The absolutely right decision. Two tiger sharks circle us and we where able to be observed them for about 20 minutes. Awesomeness pur!!!!!

Fulahmula Muli – Gemana Fushi Outside – BBG Island Housereef
We made a nice last dive at Fulahmulah with another tiger shark and a marlin. Then it goes directly back to Gaafu Alifu Atoll.
Here we dive again at Gemana Fushi Outside and make a relaxed marco dive at BBQ Island at the end of the day before the crew spoils us there with a barbeque.
16.03.2018
Maarehaa – Vodamulaa Kandu – Kuredhoo Kandu
We have a medium strong current on all dives and could easily drift along the edges of the canal. The day gives us a lot of snapper, a few eagle rays and a few grey reef sharks.
17.03.2018
Koodhoo Harbour – Villigilli Channel
The last canal dives of this tour take us through a school of barracuda and many snappers. Also here are again many, many sharks have been around.

A great week is coming to an end. Everyone goes home with a big grin or stays on the Sheena for another week. The trip to Fulahmulah Atoll was definitely worth it. We are already looking forward to next week!
