Strike
The Oasis Dive Resort – collective strike for 2 days – no boat and zodiacs trips
The fee spiral in Egypt continues, as of Saturday, December 28th, 2019, a daily fee of USD 5 will be required for all people who want to dive or snorkel from a boat. There is also a daily fee for the boat depending on the length of the ship. This daily fee ranges from $ 10 to $ 60.
These so-called environment fees have to be paid daily in advance. Without paying the fees you will not get a daily permit from the coast guard, which in turn also costs fees.
For all diving centers and aquacentres these charges and the procedure are not acceptable, so the joint decision was made on Saturday, December 28th. and Sunday, December 29th, 2019, no trips.
We ask all our guests on site for understanding for this strike. If we don’t defend diving centers and aquacentres against such excessive taxes, the holiday fun in Egypt will soon no longer be affordable.
If something changes or we have new knowledge, we will inform you immediately. A meeting with the governor is to take place in Hurghada on Saturday, we are looking forward to the result.
