Anemonen/Anemones

Hier auf den Malediven gibt es ganz viele verschiedene Arten von Anemonen, so z.B. die Teppich-, Prach-, Blasen- oder auch Knubbelanemonen. Am häufigsten fällt uns sicher die Prachtanemone ins Auge, da sie durch ihre verschiedenen Farben so auffällt. Mal ist sie grün, mal blau, mal orange oder pink. Und immer wunderschön anzuschaun! Die Gemeinsamkeit aller Anemonen ist die, das sie nesselnd sind. Dies dient ihrem Schutz und ihrem Nahrungsfang, meist Plankton oder auch kleine Fische. Das besondere ist allerdings das der Anemonenfisch – besser bekannt unter dem Namen Nemo – in einer solchen Anemone wohnt. Er, und nur er, ist nämlich resistent gegen die Nesselzellen. Man spricht hier von einer Symbiose zwischen der Anemone und dem Anemonenfisch! Sie koennen nicht ohne einander überleben. Super Buddies!!!

Here on the Maldives we have many different typs of anemones, for example the Knob-edged-, Magnificent-,Club- or Bubble anemone. I guess most known is the Magnificent anemone because of all their different colours. Sometimes it is blue, or green, pink or orange – but always beautiful and magnificent! What they all have in common are the stinging cells. That’s how they can protect themself from preditors and that’s how they can kill and catch their food, mostly Plankton and small fishes. What’s special is that the anemon fish – i guess better known under the name Nemo – is living in such anemones. He, and only he, is resistant against the stinging cell. The Anemone and the Anemonefish live in a symbiosis with each other and wouldn’t survive without each other! Good Buddies!!!
