Smoke on the water

Wie das Sprichwort lautet: Wo Rauch ist, ist auch Feuer. Buchstaeblich wie in unserem Fall ! Letzte Nacht gegen 01:00 Uhr frueh brach ein Feuer im Buffet Bereich des Restaurants aus, welches sich schnell ausgebreitet hat und alles zerstoert hat was in seinem Weg war. Dank der schnellen Reaktion der Mitarbeiter auf der Insel, konnte das Feuer schnell unter Kontrolle gebracht werden. Neben dem Restaurantbereich, wurden keine anderen Gebaeude in irgendeiner Weiser beschaedigt und die Kueche ist voll funtionsfaehig. Gute Nachrichten fuer unsere hungrigen Taucher 😛 ! Das Resort Management war schnell in der Umsetzung eines provisorischen Essensbereichs, in der Bar, wo das Fruehstueck am naechsten Morgen serviert wurde. Dieser Vorfall beeintraechtigt jedoch in keinster Weise die Plaene der Gaeste, die nach Bathala kommen wollen 🙂 ! Plaene fuer den Wiederaufbau des Restaurants sind vorhanden, und innerhalb der naechsten 2 Wochen soll bereits das Restaurant vollkommen renoviert sein 🙂 .

As the saying goes: where there is smoke, there is fire ! Literally in our case! Last night at around 1am, a fire started in the buffet area of the restaurant which quickly spread, destroying everything in its path. Thanks to the quick reaction of staff on the island, the blaze was soon brought under control. Apart from the restaurant area, no other buildings have been damaged in any way and the kitchen is still fully functional. Good news for hungry divers 😛 !! The resort management was quick to set up a temporary dining area in the bar and table tennis area, in time to serve breakfast this morning. This incident has and will in NO WAY affect holidaymakers plans to visit Bathala. Plans to rebuild the restaurant within the next 2 weeks are underway already 🙂 .
