Frohes neues Jahr!! / Happy New Year!!

Das neue Jahr auf Medhufhushi startet mit einem Trip in den Süden des Meemu Atolls. Von Dezember bis Mai sind die Mantas auf der Süd-West Seite und wir hoffen, ihnen dort beim Tauchen zu begegnen. Es ist eine 2-stündige Bootsfahrt um zu dem Tauchplatz Valley of the Ray zu gelangen. Außerdem brauchen wir auch immer etwas Glück und vielleicht sind wir dann in der Mitter einer Gruppe Mantas. Am 2. Jänner sind wir wärmstens
begrüßt worden: nicht nur, dass wir mit 4 Mantas getaucht sind, wir haben auch 2 Adlerrochen und einige Stachelrochen angetroffen!!
Vielen Dank an Beate und Andreas, die uns die Fotos von Silvester und vom Tagestrip zur Verfügung gestellt haben. Um das Foto der Beiden richtig zu verstehen, müssen wir natürlich noch erwähnen, dass Beate jeden Morgen kurz vor Bootsabfahrt mit zwei Käse-Sandwiches (eines für sich und eines für Andi) ins Tauchcenter gestürmt ist. Für die zwei Hardkore-Taucher zählte in der Früh jede Minute und ein Frühstück im Restaurant ging sich nie aus. Noch schnell das Sandwich verdrückt, die Zigarette aufgeraucht und dann konnte es auch schon los gehen 🙂 Es war wirklich eine tolle Zeit mit euch!

The new year in Mehdufushi started with a trip to the south of Meemu Atoll. From December to May we go there with the hope to find manta rays. It is a 2 hour boat ride to get there. Then you need a good dose of luck and you may find yourself surrounded by manta rays. On the 2nd of January the new year welcomed our divers warmly: not only there were 4 manta rays swimming around, also 2 eagle rays and several stingrays!!
Thanks to Beate and Andreas for the pictures from both New year´s eve and the day trip. To truly understand the picture, we must explain what is going on with the two of them and their cheese-sandwhiches. Every morning before the boat leaves Beate brings a sandwhich for herself and Andi, because time for breakfast their is none for these two hard-core divers. Very time efficient, the sandwhich was consumed, so was the cigarette for Andi and then it´s time
to get diving! It was a really great time with you!
