Der frühe Taucher sieht den Hai! / The early diver sees the shark!

Früh aufstehen wird doch belohnt: nach einer eher kurzen Nacht und einem wilden Ritt mit dem Zodiac hiess es abtauchen am Elphinstone. Angenehme Strömung machten den Abstieg auf das Nordplateau zu einem sehr fischreichen Erlebnis. Zu Freude aller Taucher wartete dort unten ein großer Seidenhai, der die Gruppe recht nah inspizierte und während des weiteren Tauchgangs noch ein paarmal vorbei schaute. Tunas, Barrakudas und Dickkopfmakrelen begleiteten die Taucher bis zum Safety-Stop und in der letzten Minute schaute auch noch ein Longimanus vorbei. Ein perfekter Tauchgang, aber lassen wir jetzt die Bilder sprechen. Ein Dankeschön an Selina und Rolf für die Fotos und allen Tauchern wie immer GUT LUFT. Bleibt nur eine Frage: Wer oder was hat dem Seidenhai einen Teil der Rückenflosse abgebissen?

Sometimes wake up early is getting rewarded: after a rather quick night and a wild ride with the Zodiac it was time to dive on Elphinstone. A pleasant current and a lot of fish made a very nice descent to the northern plateau. To the delight of the divers a Silky Shark was waiting down there and inspecting the group quite close. During the dive he shows up a few times. Tunas, barracudas and giant trevallies accompanied the divers until the safety-stop and in the last minute a Longimanus shows up.
