Requirements for snorkling
-Wachturm
-Ausgebildetes Personal
-Erste Hilfe Ausrüstung und Rettungskraft
-Warnschilder
-Kommunikation mit Marine Polizei
Following the announcement earlier today, CDWS would like to clarify a number of points concerning the South Sinai Governorate’s decision about opening up beaches in Naama Bay and Sharm el Maya to swimming and snorkelling activities.
CDWS would like to make it clear to all members that the opening of these areas to swimming and snorkelling is subject to a series of strict rules and regulations (put in place by South Sinai Governorate) that must be adhered to by all hotels on these beaches.
These rules and regulations include :
– the construction of watching towers;
– training of personnel;
– the provision of specialist rescue equipment and personnel;
– placement of signs;
– activation of Marine Police patrols.
(For a full list of requirements, contact the South Sinai Governorate directly.)
ALL of the requirements called for by the South Sinai Governorate have to be completed by the hotels in the area BEFORE swimming and snorkelling activities are permitted.
