Situation Update

Nach den Haiattacken des 5ten Dezember 2010 gibt es so viele Gerüchte durch die internationalen Medien, das man gar nicht mehr weiss, was man glauben soll.
Wir würden jene gerne aufklären.
Nach den 5ten Dezember 2010 gab es keine Haiattacken mehr in Sharm el Sheikh.
Seit dem 20sten Dezember dürfen wir schon wieder alle Bootstauchplätze in Sharm el Sheikh betauchen. Der Strand in Naama Bay ist auch wieder für alle Tauchtätigkeiten freigegeben.
Es gibt leider immer noch Einschränkungen beim Schnorchelers. Man darf von Boot aus nur in der Strasse von Tiran am Gordon Reef , Nord-Laguna uns Süd-Laguna, und in Ras Mohamed schnorcheln.

CDWS member update: Diving restrictions lifted

Dear members

All diving restrictions put in place following the series of shark incidents since 30 November have now been lifted.

Following continuing safety assessments and a gradual change in restrictions, CDWS is pleased to inform members that all diving activities can continue under the normal safety and standards guidelines applicable before the incidents.

At this time, restrictions regarding snorkelling remain unchanged. As and when there will be changes to these restrictions, we will send out an announcement.

In the last weeks there have been a lot of rumours going around in the international media regarding Sharm el Sheikh and the shark attacks.
We want to give you the right information.
After the attack on the 5th of December 2010 there has been no other shark attack here in Sharm.
As of 20.12.2010 we have the possibility to dive at all dive sites as before the attacks.
We are also diving from the beach and conducting courses from the beach.
There is still restrictions on snorkelling; snorkeling from the boat is only allowed in The Strait of Tiran (Gordon Reef and North + South Laguna) and Ras Mohamed.
